Hi,
When I want to open a sharepoint excel document in power Query (to make a link to Power BI), it states that the modified date is 6-4-2021 (june 4th). However, it is a live document, which is modified as we speak by either me or my colleagues. So, the modified date should be today (in this case 6-9-2021 (june 9th) and not 6-4-2021. How can I ensure that the connected data of sharepoint is the most recent dataset?

Hi @l_hendriks
You may refer to this article (Power Query: Connecting to Excel Workbooks in SharePoint Online) about how to connect to an Excel workbook stored in Sharepoint Online. Make sure your Excel file in Sharepoint Online is updated successfully. If you are using Power BI Desktop, you need to click Refresh icon to import the latest data from this Excel file into the report. If the report has been published to service, it will detect the file changes in Sharepoint Online and update the data automatically.

Hey @l_hendriks welcome to the community!
To me this sounds like your OneDrive is not syncing do you have OneDrive connected and displayed in your taskbar?
If not then that could be the issue. If you do have it in your taskbar when was the last time it was updated in OneDrive?

Hi Watsky,
Thank you for your help! It took a few days to install my workspace accordingly but it still does not work the way I wished for. So I wonder, is syncing my computer with OneDrive necessary if I ask Power BI to make an online connection?
