XML Expanding Error

Hi All,

Having an issue when expanding an xml file. For some reason it is detecting some values as a table which are a single values.

I have a cell highlighted in the photo where the value is just "3" but it is displaying as a table. Then later on the same column is displaying correctly. Bit confused. I assume it is a simple fix.

Thanks

Hello @Anonymous

I'm not an expert on XML, but I think if power query is identifying as table, then there is a reason for that in XML. What you can do is to apply a Transform.Columns to read from the table first cell / first column. Here an example of a possible function

{{"Element:Text", each try _[#"Element:Text"]{0} otherwise _}}

Hi Jimmy, I am struggling to get this to work. I potentially am not doing it correctly.

So say for the Column "Race.Dog.Box" how would would that look

I believe the start would be = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"Expanded Race.Dog",{{"Race.Dog.Box".........

Sorry, i am lacking experience with this sort of stuff
