Table doesn't automatically appear when creating DAX statement

When I create a Dax state using a field in one of many tables, The table doesn't auto populate.  Why?

i.e  Measure = TotalYTD(Table2[Field1]...  Table2 doesn't autopopulate.  If I type it in manually I get an error Column cannot be found in Table2.

Why?

Hi @Del235 ,

The first parameter of TOTALYTD is an expression that returns a scalar value. So please try:

Measure = TOTALYTD(SUM(Table2[Field1])...)
