Hi,
When I want to connect to a SSAS-cube via live-connection I get an error saying that I can't connect - it says I don't have access to the cube. However, it's not a problem connecting through Import. So I do have access to the cube and I'm certain that the access is correctly set up in SSAS via Microsoft AD-group management.
I know this is a well-known issue in Power BI, but have anyone found a way to work around it?
Thanks!
@Anonymous ,
Could you please share the backup of SSAS database to us for analysis? Based on my test, I can connect to SSAS with live connection mode successfully. Have you configured some security setting on SSAS? Like denied access to specific measures?
Besides, please check the PowerBI Desktop trace log, you can locate it by referring to this blog: https://devscopebi.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/power-bi-desktop-trace-logs-analyser/
Regards,
Lydia
I am having a similar issue.....I get odd interaction failures between visuals. NOTE-----I'm trying to go straight to the SSAS db....I've temporarily removed the gateway from the mix.
What DOES work for me is connecting PBI desktop directly to my local (Visual Studio) copy of the model. That proves out that it isn't my MODEL, but some communication between PBI and SSAS.
Will update if I have any progress.
