Hi there! I finished my power bi dashboard and one super important thing i'd like to implement is an automated refresh. To avoid the refreshes being entirely set by me, I'd like for my dashboard to be updated if not on an ongoing basis then regularly. I'm aware that powerbi has scheduled refreshes but I have continued to run into permission issues because I have created the dashboard with my company laptop and company files.
I created a new power automate workflow to automate the refresh and though it seems to be set up properly it has not been working where once the data source is updated, the web, desktop or in-teams version of the dashboard does not update either (not even after a few mins). Is there any advice/help for this?
Thank you so much!
Hi @powerbinewbie26 ,
There's a lot going on in this question.
-1- Are we talking about a report or a dashboard? Dashboards automatically pick up the latest version of its component visuals when the providing report dataset is refreshed.
-2- What permissions issues are you getting when trying schedule refreshes on reports? Do you have a gateway set up?
-3- Power Automate really shouldn't be used as an alternative to the regular scheduled refresh process (unless you have a really specific use-case reason for doing so, which it doesn't sound like you do).
