On-Premises Gateway problem

Hi, All. I have aproblem with On-Premises Gateway.

Installed On-Premises Gateway: OK.

Manage Gateway status : OK.

Tuned a sourse like file, and choosed 1.xlsx file.

File look like this

BUT, I cann't create dataset.

help me, please. How step by step create dataset. Yearsteday I read forum,but only found answer where interface different like me. I guess it depends on the update Gateway .

What do you mean that "can't create dataset"? You can connect to the Excel file from Power BI Desktop, create reports in Desktop and publish the report to Power BI Service. Then use the gateway to refresh dataset in Power BI Service.

1. Get Excel path, Windows username following the guide in this similar thread.

2. Click “…”(Open menu) of your gateway and select “Add data source”,  choose File as Data Source Type, input excel path, windows username and your password.

Thanks, Lydia. I forgot to put picture with settings where I tunned sourse like Excel file.

It's ok.

But I cann't create dataset. How can I do this?

What do you mean that "can't create dataset"? You can connect to the Excel file from Power BI Desktop, create reports in Desktop and publish the report to Power BI Service. Then use the gateway to refresh dataset in Power BI Service.

Super. it's work) Thank so much. Do always I work with desktop app? If I want work only with Excel and Power Bi, What do I need do?

You can also directly connect to Excel file in Power BI Service via Get Data-> Files entry.
