Hello, I was looking to the technical preview announcement of SSRS and power bi to mount an on premise solution (that works out of the box and is already pre-configured) but unfortunately our organization only dispose of windows 7 licenses and sql server 2014.
Is it a way to install it under windows 7 or to make a similar solution under sql server 2014?
Thanks in advance.
Hi @xv,
Do you refer to Power BI reports in SQL Server Reporting Services: January 2017 Technical Preview? If so, it won’t be possible to install the preview on Windows 7 and use SSRS 2014 to make a similar on-premises solution.
You will need to meet the following requirements to install the preview. For SSRS 2016, you can use SQL Server 2016 Evaluation installer.
•Your own VM or server (not one in production use)
•Windows Server 2012 or later (or Windows 8 or later)
•.NET Framework 4.5.2 or later
•SQL Server Database Engine (2008 or later), to store the report server database
•SQL Server Analysis Services (2012 SP1 CU4 or later), to store your data models
