Hi
I have a Firebird database file that I would like to retrieve data from. The database file is generated by a piece of software on another computer and placed on a share.
I understand I need a driver installed first, and then via the Powerbi ODBC option choose correct driver.
While installing the driver (Devart ODBC Firebird driver) I need to configure the driver https://www.devart.com/odbc/firebird/docs/driver_configuration_and_conne.htm
It is asking for the path to the fbclient.dll
Do I need to install the full firebird package to get this file or can I copy the single file to any location and use it "standalone"?
Hi,
have you made any progress here? I have similar situation, so it would be interesting if someone knows a solution.
Hi @Anonymous ,
You could refer to https://wikidll.com/firebird-project/fbclient-dll and https://firebirdsql.org/manual/ufb-cs-clientlib.html for details. It seems that you could try to download the dll file and install in corresponding path, which should be work. You could try it, and you also need to check the requirement and installation in your above link, or you also could ask this problem in corresponding forum in above link(which you provide).
Best Regards,
Zoe Zhi
