Expression Error Help Needed

Expression.Error: We cannot apply operator - to types Number and Text.
Details:
Operator=-
Left=-100
Right=

The expression error is in a new custom column called amount.

I changed the debit, credit, and new amount columns to all match... I tried decimal, currency, and text - the error did not disappear.

Below is a screenshot of the custom column formula... why am i getting this error?

it is because of the nulls

replace your nulls with 0

Unfortunately, that did not work... I replaced null with 0 in both the debit and credit columns and I am still getting the error.  See the larger screenshot below.

Hi - See screenshot. Unfortunately, that does not help.  I tried decimal, text, and currency already... making sure all 3 fields match.  still getting the error.

Currently, the Data Type is set as Text needs to be changed from Text

to Decimal Number.
