Excel sheet with grouped columns?

Hi,

 

I have a several users that have spreadsheets with grouped columns, and they might have the same name for a sub column in each of the grouped columns.

 

What is the best way to get this imported so it makes sense in PowerBI?

 

Here is a screenshot as an example:

Hi @dparkinson,

 

If the Excel store data as your example, after import to the desktop, it should look like this:

It depends on which kind of result you want, there are many transform feature in query editor you can try. See: Common query tasks in Power BI Desktop.

 

But personally, I would store data in Excel in this format then import to desktop.
