Hi everyone,
I'm working on building a Power BI dashboard using data from Datev Rechnungswesen (German accounting software). Through DatevConnect, I've obtained REST API endpoints that can be embedded in Power BI via Web Queries. The endpoints I'm working with are:
http://localhost:58454/datev/api/accounting/v1/clients – Retrieves a list of clients.
http://localhost:58454/datev/api/clients/{client-id}/fiscal-years – Provides a table of fiscal years for the selected client.
http://localhost:58454/datev/api/clients/{client-id}/fiscal-years/{fiscal-year-id}/accounting-sums-a... – Returns the accounting sums and balances for the specified client and fiscal year.
My challenge is that I want to use client-id and fiscal-year-id as dynamic parameters within Power BI. However, it seems that using dynamic parameters isn't supported with Web Queries through DatevConnect (import query).
One potential solution I’m considering is creating a custom connector that could pass the data to Power BI in DirectQuery mode, allowing the use of dynamic parameters.
Has anyone here done something similar, or would an alternative approach be more practical?
I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions.
