Hi guys,
I've write this Dax formula. It works with a small sample of data, but does not work in large data set. When I've run it in Dax studio, I've got an error. Can some one please help me to undrestand the problem?
Des_bank =
VAR YourREF = [YREF]
VAR BankRef =
FILTER (
CALCULATETABLE (
'Sheet1',
ISNUMBER ( IFERROR ( FIND ( YourREF, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] ), BLANK () ) )
),
'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] <> BLANK ()
)
RETURN
CONCATENATEX ( BankRef, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving], ", " )
Error in Dax studio:
Query (2, 5) The syntax for 'YourREF' is incorrect. (Des_bank =
VAR YourREF = [YREF]
VAR BankRef =
FILTER (
CALCULATETABLE (
'Sheet1',
ISNUMBER ( IFERROR ( FIND ( YourREF, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] ), BLANK () ) )
),
'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] <> BLANK ()
)
RETURN
CONCATENATEX ( BankRef, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving], ", " )
).
The error message suggests that the syntax used for the variable 'YourREF' is incorrect. It seems like 'YourREF' is intended to be a parameter in the DAX formula, but it is not defined correctly.
To fix this error, you should define 'YourREF' as a parameter using the DEFINE function in DAX. You can modify the formula as follows:
Des_bank = DEFINE YourREF = [YREF] VAR BankRef = FILTER ( CALCULATETABLE ( 'Sheet1', ISNUMBER ( IFERROR ( FIND ( YourREF, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] ), BLANK () ) ) ), 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving] <> BLANK () ) RETURN CONCATENATEX ( BankRef, 'Sheet1'[Omschrijving], ", " )
By defining 'YourREF' using the DEFINE function, the DAX formula should be able to handle large datasets without errors.
Thank you for your reply. I've modified the formula but it still has error. The modified doesn't work in small data set too.
