Date formatting

I have a date column that i need help formatting. instead of 5/4/2021 i need it to read 05/04/2021. I just need to add a zero to any single digit month and/or day while leaving the year alone as well as the double digit months and days. Is there an easier way to do this other than extracting the month, day and year, adding zeros accordingly and then combining the columns again?

HI @CostaBella ,

 

Is your column with date values of DATE type in Power BI?

If yes, then you can just select your column in the Field tab as shown below:

Then on the top ribbon with multiple date formats select the highlighted one:

This will give your dates a dd/mm/yyyy format.

My fault, i forgot to note that i am using Power Query Editor.

You can easily do it outside Power Query editor 🙂
