Hi all,
I've a data in Excel that look like this:
And in this image, there is a dropdown option for Year, and few buttons for each quarter.
And this data will be change manually every month, and the person who change it will need to click the "Store Data" function at the top right.
My question is, is there any better way to display this data in Power BI?
My current idea now is to just create some sort of a pivot table where the column would be : Year, Quarter, Employee Name (not sure yet), but I doubt this method would be efficient as the data will need to be change every month.
And is there any way to store data for every changes we have made?
Side Note: this data will also be use to create charts etc.
Please help me on this, thank you!
Hi @Anonymous ,
You can use the import mode to connect Power BI Desktop to Excel. When your data is updated in Excel, you click the refresh button below, and the data will also be updated.
This tutorial is to teach you how to use the Power Query editor to shape data. After data is transformed, you can create a slicer and other visuals to display. The slicer is to filter data.
Best Regards,
Stephen Tao
