Custom Connector User Input as Record

Hello,

I try to build a custom connector that implements a certain logic in the navigation. Unfortunately, input parameters are not yet queried in the navigation. I hope you experts can help me.

I define the navigation table and add a data column:

viewsTable2 = Table.AddColumn(viewsTable, ‘Data’, each ChangeTable([SCHEMA_NAME],[VIEW_NAME],OdbcDatasource)),

In the ChangeTable function, I want to output a table that is filtered. To do this, I define an inner function in ChangeTable that should take a record parameter and returns a table:

ChangeColumnNames = (schema as text, view as text,source) =>

    let

        ...

        Func = (paramsRecord as record) =>

            let

                tbl = ...

            in tbl;

        NewType = type function (

        paramsRecord as

        [ ...]

        ) as table,

        Ascribed = Value.ReplaceType(Func, NewType)

    in

        Ascribed;

How is only the empty record displayed in the navigation and not the concretisation of the record from the variable newType?

If I now click on OK and look at the dataset, specific user input is now requested. But why only now and not in the navigator?

It would be good for my further code if the record can be kept. Is that possible?

Hi @tanito

Based on my understanding, you want to add a new record in table by inputing data, and the data can display in navigator,based on my understanding, Navigator provides existing data sources, and if you want to display the data entered in Power Query in real time in Navigator, you can't do it,  you can refer to the following link.

You can use function to filter in navigator, you can refer to the following link.
