Hi @mkmcfadden

A 400 Bad Request from the Navex IRM API usually indicate the request reached the server, but something about the request is invalid.
Unlike 401 (authentication) & 403 (authorization).
400 typically points to the request format, parameters, or endpoint.

Here are the most common follow up steps, how to troubleshoot them:
1-Double check the Endpoint

  • Ensure you're calling the correct endpoint. For example:
  • Correct base URL
  • Correct API version
  • Correct table/resource name
  • Even a small typo in the endpoint or table name can result in a 400.

2. If you are connecting with Power BI

  • The URL is correct.
  • Authentication is configured properly.
  • Headers are supplied correctly using Web.Contents().

To fully diagnose this, if you could please share these details

  • The full request URL .
  • The HTTP method (GET, POST, etc.).
  • The request headers (mask the access token).
  • The request body (if any).
  • The complete 400 response body or error message.
  • Whether you're calling the API from Power BI, Postman, Power Automate, or another tool.

Hi @mkmcfadden

Thanks for your question. Based on the information provided, the 400 Bad Request error appears to be related to the NAVEX IRM API request rather than a Microsoft Fabric or Power BI issue.

As this community is focused on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, you may get better assistance from NAVEX IRM support or their developer resources. If you're encountering the error within Fabric or Power BI and can share the relevant query/code and full error details, the community can help determine whether a Fabric or Power BI component is involved.

Regards,

Microsoft Fabric Community Support Team.
