Working on .pbix version control. Workflow should be something like that:
* download report .pbix file from PowerBI portal
* extract .pbix
* compare files to previous day files
Would it be possible to automate these steps? (e.g using powershell) Or are there other solutions?

There's no such version control feature in Power BI desktop. You can check this idea Dataset/Report Version Control and vote it up.
