SASS and RLS - data access by email

I started digging into details on how SASS can be used in terms of RLS and so far I've discovered that users are restricted data access based on Windows domain authentication, not Microsoft email account. Is that true or not?

However, Azure Analysis Services is email based?

Pretty much. On-premise SSAS is domain based.
