Power BI export - filter issue - Not In

Hello,

I'm using Power BI export feature to generate a pdf version of a report, to get that, Im using export filters when exporting.

But there I need to pass "Not In" filter but if fails in when export.

In the documentation also unable to see it's a limitation. may I know a way of pass Not In condition to export filters when exporting a report.

Thanks in Advance.

Chamila.

Hi @Chamilag

Thank you for reaching out microsoft fabric community forum.

Currently, Power BI’s export filters don’t support the "Not In" condition — only basic operations like In, Equals, Greater Than, etc., are supported. This isn’t clearly documented but is a known limitation.

Workaround:

You can flip the logic by:

  • Using an "In" filter in the export, and
  • Excluding the unwanted values inside the report using DAX or visual-level filters.

If this solution helps, please consider giving us Kudos and accepting it as the solution so it can assist other community members.
Thank you.

Hi @Chamilag

What do you mean by not in ?

Is it a filter like this one:
