Hi, @Anonymous

Thanks for suparnababu8 and rajendraongole1 reply. If you turn off Steped layout, you can't see what's on the other side, because the scrollbar below the matrix controls columns other than "Rows", and when the rows fill the entire screen, sliding the scrollbar doesn't work anyway, and you can't see the visual changing. As a workround, the best option is to turn on the Steped layout settings, if it affects the viewing effect, you can adjust the Steped layout indentation for a better visual experience.

Open Steped layout indentation:

Hi @Anonymous

In Power BI, if you have a matrix with many rows and you want to scroll horizontally to see all your values, you can adjust the settings to enable horizontal scrolling. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Enable Word Wrap:

    • Go to the Format pane.
    • Under the Values section, turn on Word wrap. This will ensure that text within the cells wraps and doesn’t extend beyond the cell boundaries.
  2. Adjust Column Width:

    • In the Format pane, under the Column headers section, you can adjust the Column width to make sure all columns fit within the viewable area. This can help reduce the need for horizontal scrolling.
  3. Use the Scroll Bars:

    • If your matrix still extends beyond the viewable area, Power BI should automatically provide horizontal and vertical scroll bars. You can use these scroll bars to navigate through your matrix.
  4. Resize the Visual:

    • You can also resize the matrix visual itself by clicking and dragging the edges of the visual. This can help you see more of your data without needing to scroll as much.
  5. Consider Using a Table Visual:

    • If horizontal scrolling is still an issue, consider using a table visual instead of a matrix. Tables in Power BI are more straightforward and might handle horizontal scrolling better for your specific use case.

Example Steps:

  1. Enable Word Wrap:

    • Select your matrix visual.
    • Go to the Format pane.
    • Expand the Values section.
    • Toggle Word wrap to On.
  2. Adjust Column Width:

    • In the Format pane, expand the Column headers section.
    • Adjust the Column width slider to fit your needs.
  3. Resize the Visual:

    • Click on the matrix visual.
    • Drag the edges to resize it.

These steps should help you manage the horizontal scrolling in your matrix visual.

Hi @Anonymous -In Power BI, the Matrix visual allows you to scroll horizontally and vertically when you have a large number of rows or columns. To allow easier horizontal scrolling, try disabling Text Wrap for the rows

Column wrap

The Stepped Layout feature can help manage row hierarchy and prevent the Matrix from becoming too wide

Go to the Format pane >layout and style prestyle.

If the data in the Matrix is too large, shrinking the font size may allow more columns to be visible without needing to scroll

Hope the above techniques helps to avoid scroll .
