Hello everyone,
I am quite new to PBI, and I have been stuck on the following issue.
I have inherited a dataset. A sample snapshot is shown below (a.). I transformed it on Query Editor, using the following steps (b.) to get the output (c.). Now when I 'Apply & Close' to view it on the Table View on the Desktop App, I get a whole different output (d.). The transformation steps are wrongly reflected and the rows are missing.
a.
b.
c.
d.
As you can see, the number of activities under the 'Activity' column for each day, the 'Time' and the 'Date' format are off from the Query Editor view (c.).
I have tried:
- updating the desktop app
- 'Refresh All'
Any help on diagnosing this discrepancy, and alternative step-by-step solutions would be so much appreciated!
Thank you all in advance!
Thank you elitesmitpatel
Hi, @JWS_1218
You should set your time column to the correct numeric format inside the power query:
To ensure that your column data does not change, you can set it to Text format.

Try this step
1. Contextual Filtering:
Slicers or Filters: If you have any slicers or filters applied on the page, they might be affecting the data displayed in the Table View.
Relationships: Ensure that any relationships between tables are defined correctly and are not causing unintended filtering.
2. Data Model Changes:
Calculated Columns or Measures: If you've added or modified calculated columns or measures, they might be influencing the data displayed.
Hidden Columns: Ensure that the columns you expect to see are not hidden in the Table View.
3. Query Editor Transformations:
Order of Transformations: The order in which you applied transformations in the Query Editor might be affecting the final output. Try rearranging the steps to see if it makes a difference.
Conditional Logic: If you used conditional logic (e.g., IF statements, filters) in your transformations, ensure they are functioning as expected.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Remove Filters: Start by removing any slicers or filters from the page and see if the correct data is displayed.
Check Relationships: Verify that your relationships are defined correctly and are not causing unintended filtering.
Review Transformations: Double-check your Query Editor transformations to ensure they are applied correctly and in the desired order.
Create a New Table: If the issue persists, try creating a new calculated table based on your transformed data and see if the output matches your expectations.
If still get trouble please share the pbix file with dummy data.
