groups

Hello,

I want to create groups from following tabel. I need from column "Eqp.1(6)" the group name and then every number from "Eqp. 2.1" , "Eqp.2.2",... should be in this group.

Is there a simple way to do this?

Hi @Dirk_Kuypers,

You can achieve it in Power Query by unpivoting the columns then you can use them as groups.

this is your table.

| Eqp.1(6) | Eqp.2.1 | Eqp.2.2 | Eqp.2.3 |
| -------- | ------- | ------- | ------- |
| Group A | 101 | 102 | 103 |
| Group B | 201 | 202 | null |

after unpivoting you'll have something like this

| Group Name | Equipment |
| ---------- | --------- |
| Group A | 101 |
| Group A | 102 |
| Group A | 103 |
| Group B | 201 |
| Group B | 202 |

And now you can use them as groups in matrix view
