Using Microsoft Copilot to Create a Dashboard

The P1 and D64 capacities required to have Copilot in Power BI are expensive.

Is there some sort of tool out there that allows for Copilot or some form of AI capability, within Power BI, without having to pay for P1 or D64 capacities?

HI @jellis1971,

These licenses should be the prerequisite of feature usages, I don’t think you can skip these requirements to use their features.

As the replacement for colplit analysis, perhaps you can take a look the Q&A visual, they allow you to use natural language ask questions to generate correspond visuals.

I totally get the cost concern with P1/D64 capacities for Copilot. Many teams find that licensing becomes a barrier.

We actually built PowerMind for this exact reason, it brings AI insights directly into Power BI without needing those premium capacities. You can embed it into your existing dashboards and users can ask questions in natural language.

If you're curious how it works in practice, there's a quick demo on LinkedIn that shows the setup. Might be worth a look since it addresses the cost issue directly.
