Using 2 different Salesforce login credentials for the same SF org as data sources - refresh failiur

For the same Salesforce environment (org)  I have 2 Salesforce accounts with 2 different login credentials that access different data. Those 2 logins are my SF data sources for POWER BI, some report's data source is from SF login A and some reports source are from SF login B, different SF login credentials for different reports.

The problem is that the credentials for each account keep switching automatically causing me refresh issue. This is happening in desktop, but more problematic its also happening with the datasets and data flows in service, so the automatic refresh is failing. In the dataset/dataflow I will enter credentials A and behind the scenes the dataset/dataflow with credentials B will switch to A - causing failiur in B.

I will greatly appreciate your wisdom and help

Hi @Anonymous ,

Unfortunately, it is not supported to use same data source with different credentials in Power BI Desktop at the same time.

Best Regards,

Jay

@Anonymous - I am not sure there is a solution for this. For each unique source, Power BI stores a data connection. You can see these in the Desktop by going to File | Options and settings | Data source settings. You can only have a single authentication method at a time per data source connection.

Check the Ideas forum. You could also open a support ticket with Microsoft to see if there is a way. You could check the Issues forum here:

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
