Scorecards/Goals

I've had scorecards embedded in my published reports for some time. All of a sudden they are grayed out in the Service, in Desktop, and I can't create goals no more in desktop. When I click browse goals, nothing appears and I'm signed in to the service. The visuals show in my scorecards folder, they just don't work inside the reports. I have a Premium workspace and Pro License, owner of reports.

Help!

The Scorecards started working again but according to my IT Team they didn't find the source of the problem. It supposedly fix itself.

Hi @Richy123,

Check: Admin Portal > Tenant settings > search for "Create and use Goals", must be enabled for your security group or the entire org.

Remember that this require admin access !

Thankyou, @parry2k for your response.

Hi @Richy123,

We appreciate your inquiry posted through the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Based on our understanding, existing scorecards that were previously functioning are now greyed out in both Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service. Additionally, the Browse Goals feature no longer returns any results, although the scorecards remain visible. In view of this, we suggest the following checks:

1.Verify whether the scorecards can be opened and interacted with directly in the Power BI Service.

2.Confirm that you still have the appropriate workspace permissions, such as Member or Admin, and that you have access to the workspace containing the scorecards.

3.Sign out and sign back into both Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service to rule out any authentication issues.

4.Check with your Fabric or Power BI administrator regarding any recent tenant level configuration changes that may affect the Scorecards or Metrics functionality.

5.Create a new test scorecard in the Power BI Service and verify whether it appears under Browse Goals and can be linked to a report.

If the issue persists after performing these checks, we kindly request you to open a Microsoft Support ticket for further investigation as this may require a review of tenant level settings or indicate a service side issue using the link:Microsoft Fabric Support and Status | Microsoft Fabric

@Richy123 based on the documentation it seems like you cannot create goals in Power BI desktop. Get started with goals in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

As you can see in above blog Power BI desktop is not active to create goals.
