Refresh issues with shared mailbox datasets (Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft Exchange Online)

Hi All,

Does anybody have experience with connecting to shared mailbox from Power BI?
I'm currently working on a report, which extracts data from our shared Outlook mailbox to track ongoing internal approval process. I've already tried to connect to 2 different type of datasets (Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft Exchange Online). This process is perfectly works with both types within Power BI Desktop: I can load the data, I can transform it, make visuals, etc...
However, as I publish it to Power BI Service, I always receive the below error upon refreshing (manual / scheduled as well):

I've checked the credentials of our task ID multiple times & it's correct. Does anybody have an idea to solve this?

Hi, @BalazsNy

Thank you very much for your reply. Have you tried using an alternative solution, such as using Power Query Online? Perhaps you can refer to the following official documentation:

Hi, @BalazsNy

I revisited the options for scheduled refresh in Microsoft Exchange. It is described in the documentation:
The Power Query Microsoft Exchange connector doesn't support scheduled refresh of on-premises data sources in Power BI semantic models.

You can check if you are able to refresh properly without an Exchange data source. If it can be refreshed normally, then it is a problem with the Exchange data source.

You can try to see if you can refresh your dataflow instead of your scheduled refresh.

Hi, @BalazsNy

According to the error message provided by your picture, the default folder Root in your Exchange file was not found, causing the current error. Please check that your folder does exist so that Power BI can read it.

The root folder exists, otherwise I wouldn't be able to load it into Query either. But, as I wrote, within Query it's working perfectly,  moreover I can publish it. The problem only starts upon refreshing in BI Service.
