Referential Integrity

Looking for feedback on "referential Integrity" when data modeling.  My reference point is Microsoft Access.  In Access when you ensure Referential Integrity no records can be added once that selection is made (if the "many" side doesn't have a match on the "one" side).

* Is this how it works in Power BI?

* If I have parameter selected will it filter out all other records that don't meet this criteria (enforcing referential integrity)?

@Anonymous,

Firstly, when connecting to a data source using DirectQuery in Power BI Desktop, you are able to use the Assume Referential Integrity feature. If you set Assume Referential Integrity when there are referential integrity issues in the data will not result in errors. However, it will result in apparent inconsistencies in the data. For more details, please review this article.

Secondly, do you mean that you select parameter in report view of Power BI Desktop? If so, yes, it will filter out all other records in your visual  that don't meet the criteria.

Lydia
