RLS issue

Hi All,

 

I've published report as regular I do but suddenly users are getting error like - "The underlaying dataset uses row level security. Contact data set owner MyName"..

 

Can anyone please suggest me / explain me what I need to do. I've added users in dataset - security option also. Dont get click what to do.. pls suggest

Hi @PowerBIBeginer,

Have you checked the workspace contents if other users publish a report that design with the same dataset and credentials? They may cause the conflict with security settings.

In addition, have you share this report with re-share and build permissions?

Hi, Thank You for your reply and help. I really dont know what happens but when I update the app it got resolved. I'm still confuse how come this possible.. But now users are able to access the report in app and they're not getting RLS warning msg.. 🙄

@PowerBIBeginer , This report is created on analysis service or Power bi Dataset?

 

for Power bi Dataset

You need add user to Power Bi Service -> Datatset -> Security

Thanks for your responce. I've created report in power desktop and published on power bi app. Dataset used.
