Hi,
I have a "web" data source for a report that i have created,
When i publish this report to Power Bi for other users to view, they are able to see all of the data that i have access to, it appears to store my credentials to the data source within the report.
Is it possible to prompt users of this report accessing through https://app.powerbi.com/ for their own credentials to the web data source, to return the records only they should have access to?
Thank you.
Hi @aaron797 ,
In my opinion, this is not possible. When you load data form data source with your credential, the dataset you created only contains parts of data.
Let's say there're 10 rows in data source, you load 7 rows with your credential and share the report to other users, the dataset and report only contains 7 rows and no matter what credential the other users use, they can only see at most 7 rows.
Best Regards,
Jay

Should be possible with power bi pro and premium

Thanks @amitchandak,
Our users are all on Power Bi Pro, the credential prompt im looking for is for the Web datasource itself (Third party website) not a microsoft account.
