we need to move our data source fromthe dev dataflows to the production dataflows in a Shared data set. It appears that you cant simply change a dataflow source.
The workaround is to get the Workspace ID and the dataflow ID from Settings and then copy these details into Advanced editor
This makes it really difficult to work with and Im hoping that this gets ironed out soon, Or maybe there is already a fix that I dont know about
As you can see, Change source isnt available for dataflows

If our data source is data flow, it will be dimmed.
And if my data source is excel, this option is available. So I have a test on the change source option with Excel data source.
For example:
If I charge Table(Excel1) with two columns (Country and Value) in power bi.
My new data source must contain a table with the same data model in the same Excel sheet.
Or the desktop will show pending (you can't find the keywords.)
If you want the change source to be available for the data flow.
You can submit a new idea to improve Power BI.
It's a place for customers to provide feedback on Microsoft Office products. In addition, if other customers vote a lot on the feedback, it will be promising for the Microsoft product team to consider this when designing the next version in the future.
If you want to change the data source to get a table with a different data model, the workaround might be better.
You can load the new data flow into this report and copy the M query to the advanced editor. Then paste the M query into the advanced editor of the origianl table.
You can then change the data source without interrupting the reports.

I have added the idea to the ideas board. Thanks
