MySQL Scheduled Update

Hello everyone, very good day

I'm testing the remote connection from PowerBi to MySQL

I've already published the model, but I'm hesitant about the connections for scheduled updates,

I tried but it throws me the following error

Note that this, as I said, is remote, NOT LOCAL

if someone knows what the connection is like if another gateway is needed,

I already have models with SQL Server and I don't have any problem there

I remain attentive

Hi @Syndicate_Admin,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. The error shows Power BI cannot find the MySQL provider on the gateway (“MySql.Data.MySqlClient”), so your scheduled refresh cannot connect. You can re-use your existing gateway only if that gateway machine can reach the MySQL server on the network as mentioned by 

@FBergamaschi earlier. 

Just following up to your previous conversation, I'd like to confirm if you've successfully resolved this issue or if you need further help.

If yes, you are welcome to share your workaround so that other users can benefit as well.  And if you're still looking for guidance, feel free to give us an update, we’re here for you.

Do you have a gateway that can reach this database?

Hi @Syndicate_Admin @me I do have a gateway, but I use it for SQL Server which is also mounted on a server

Can you use the same? or should another one be generated?

If that gateway can reach the MySQL, use it

Otherwise you need to install a gateway on a machine that can see the MySQL database, and use an email of the domain of your tenant
