Hello Everyone
I am new in ower BI and I am having an issue; Maybe you could help.
I designed a report on power BI desktop 64Bit (july version). All my datasources are sharepoint datasources and I've done some ETL treatment on couple of them. It works fine. But the problem is that on my client laptop the version of Power Bi desktop is 32 Bit (july version) and I am not able to open the file. huh..the pbix file do open but I get an error about memory allocation and the file's closing up immediately after.
Have you ever faced this issue ? Someone help please..
Thank you .
Nadine
Hi @NadineA
if you have complex DAX measures or have many steps in the Query Editor, they would consume much memory due to the calculation which can also affect the memory allocation error.
Please refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_GB_barrier.
I would suggest you:
1.From a memory consumption perspective it is better to add columns in the report developer using the add new measure/column function for optimized performance. Going into the query editor and removing as many columns as possible may be helpful.
2.Upgrade the Desktop the latest version.
3.Convert the OS to a 64-bit system. So does the Desktop.
Best Regards
maggie
