I have a sort on a date column in a matrix visual but after I publish the report, the users don;t see any sort at all, any ideas what the issue might be

You may need to ask your users to first reset data view in Service.
Is there any way for me to configure a popup with these helpful instructions for a few seconds when a user launches the dashboard?
What i did for my report is using a bookmark to raise users' awareness. When users open the report they will first see the bookmark message, then they can click anywhere on screen to close the bookmark.
A better alternative would be using Card (new) to display a scrolling message once. To to this, you would need to have AI generate SVG dax code.
I like your approach. However, is there a way for me to automatically reset the data view each time the dashboard is launched? I feel that will provide what I need without user intervention.
I'm not sure if this would be possible.. but i'd recomment posting another question in the forum or waiting on this thread to see if someone else has a better idea.
That worked perfectly!
Hii @Rnaval
In Desktop, your matrix may appear sorted, but after publishing, users see default behavior if the sort isn’t explicitly defined. The fix is to use “Sort by Column” in the data model (e.g., sort your date field by a proper numeric/date column) or ensure the visual sort is saved before publishing. Also check that users aren’t interacting/resetting the sort in Service, as matrix visuals can revert if sorting isn’t structurally enforced.
I did ensure the visual sort is set before publishing and I did the sort by column in the data model but still no luck.
