I wanted to confirm if pbit file is specific for the Power BI desktop version.
For exmple, if I have created a pbit file using version 2.35 and then a new version 2.40 becomes available. Is it going to cause any issue with the template created with Power BI version 2.35?
What is the recommened way of working with pbit files shared with group of users?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@hammad pbit files are not partial version specific. I have template file from two month old version and it opens fine in latest desktop version. But pbit file created from latest version will not open with older version of power bi desktop. So you should always have your pbi desktop version upgraded with latest so older template files will open fine in them and any new template you create.
