Importing basic Data or opening an existing report throw errors

Hello,

for some days I can't work with Power BI, I have the following errors :

- If I try to open any existig report on my computer, it fails and it shows : "ExecuteXmla failed with result"

- If I try to open Power BI and then import any Data (even a simple Excel Table), it fails and it shows : "Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'The following system error occurred: Class not registered ' "

Do you have any idea to resolve this ?

Thanks in advance

Hey @Anonymous ,

for me that sounds like a problem with Power BI Desktop.

Did you already update to the latest version? If not try to do that. Otherwise uninstall Power BI Desktop, restart your computer and install it again. Hope that will help.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution ✔️ and give it a thumbs up 👍

@Anonymous

Please uninstall all versions of power bi desktop in your computer and delete all relevent files, download the latest version of power bi desktop.

If you download from microsoft store, make sure your report is opened by the created version because different version may not open the old report. Set one of the version as the default application to open .pbix file.
