How to Remove Small Multiples Header from Multi-Card Visual?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove the categories header from the side? I want to use the Reference Label instead so I have more freedom to change the size of the card. I right now have figured out how to rotate the words and change the transparency but was wondering if there was a way to disable it? For reference I am using the NEW Card visual

Thanks!

Hi @MichaelaMul,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. Here I provided few workarounds that might be resolve the thread.

Currently, Power BI does not offer a direct "Hide" or "Off" toggle for the Small Multiples header (category label) in the new Card visual. But here's how to work around it effectively.

Hide the Small Multiples header using formatting: Setting the text colour transparency to 100%. Reducing the font size to the smallest possible. Optionally rotating it to 270° to minimize space. This will not remove the space it occupies, but it will hide the label itself. Learn more about Small Multiples formatting

Use the “Reference label” instead: You can turn on the Reference label in the Card visual settings to display your category or product name inside each card. This gives you more freedom over how it's positioned and styled. Go to the visual > turn on Reference label. Bind it to your category field (e.g., "Product Name"). Style it as needed (font, colour, size, etc.) Explore the new Card visual features

Use individual Card visuals instead of Small Multiples: If you want full control over layout and spacing, you could skip Small Multiples entirely and just: Create multiple Card visuals manually. Apply a visual-level filter to each one for a specific category (e.g., “THREE TREES 28 OZ”). Customize each card however you like. This approach gives you the most flexibility especially if you're only working with a small number of categories. Learn more about styling and themes

Let me know what you find after giving these steps a try happy to help you investigate this further.

Hi @MichaelaMul
You can modify it to "horisontal on top"

There is no option to remove , you can make it white and small or something , if you want to "hide" it.

Hi @MichaelaMul  - you cannot currently completely remove the category header from the side of a small multiple card in the new Card visual. Power BI doesn't provide a toggle to disable the small multiples category label.

suggest you,In Visual > Small multiples header > Color > Transparency, set it to 100%.But as you noted, this only hides it visually and does not free up space.
