Get Data with connection to Oracle Database face errors

There are 2 issues I faced:

1. Recommended provider ('Oracle.DataAccess.Client') is not installed. You can continue with your current provider, however it has been deprecated and may not work correctly.

However, I followed the instruction that Microsoft has suggested by downloading the Oracle Client for Microsoft Tools from below site:

Microsoft Learn more: Connect to an Oracle database with Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Oracle download site: https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/appdev/ocmt.html

After downloaded:

I run the installer.

Successfully installed for Unmanaged Data Access option.

After I click ok for the issue 1. I proceed to connect my server with below interface:

2. Issue "An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'No ODAC driver is found on the system. Please visit https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=272376 to install the provider.'"

While I have installed all the required drivers that stated in documentation.

I have also crosscheck my environment variables

I have crosscheck the registry as well

I also tried to install ODAC 19c separately, but when I run as admin for the install.bat, it pops and disappear in a sec.

Hope I could get some help here.

Hi @hpppppp1206 ,

Verify that the registry settings are correct. Ensure that the Oracle client is properly registered in the Windows registry.

Also see if the following similar solution helps.

Hi Adam,

I have verified the suggestion solutions from comments under your shared link.

> I downloaded the x64 version, ran the installer and the only thing I changed was the second file path where it asks to point to tnsnames.ora/sqlnet.ora. Gave it the correct file path to my TNS folder and that was it.

I did this, pointed the path to my tnsnames.ora for database conn.

I also ensured both Power BI Desktop and OCMT are latest and 64bits.

I also tried uninstall client tool and reinstall. It seems doesn't help.

I still facing "No ODAC driver is found on the System".

Based on the solutions you paste, I have verified from my end for the suggested solution from the comments.

You need to install the latest version of "Oracle-Client-For-Microsoft".

-- I have installed

I downloaded the x64 version, ran the installer and the only thing I changed was the second file path where it asks to point to tnsnames.ora/sqlnet.ora. Gave it the correct file path to my TNS folder and that was it.

-- I also place the correct path that carrying the tnsnames.ora file for connection to database

I also ensure both Power BI desktop app and the OCMT are 64-bit.
