Hi,

I have the error 'The data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.' when connecting Essbase using Essbase beta connector.

Any idea how to solve that issue?

I can't test for you currently because I don't have an Essbase account.

Please update your Power BI Desktop to the latest version: 2.78.5740.981 and try it again.

If the issue is still there, please give me more details, such as some screenshots without sensitive information.

Is "server.dev.intra" your server name? Is "19000" your port number? Make sure they are be modified as per your environment.

"Something went wrong" is usually an intermittent problem. In most cases, this will not happen again after retrying or restarting. Clear permission and try it again.

If the issue is always there and you are a pro user, I suggest you to create a support ticket to get further help.

the connecting string is correct and XMLA working. I checked it using IE browsing.

I did what you said but did not work.  

Error is not happening only for me, but for everybody here in the company.

I'm not a PRO USER... cant open ticket.
