Hi,
My data contains User Codes and Amounts
Amounts range from $0 to $100,000,000. I want to allow the user to categorize each User Code based on a user controlled thresold. I have been trying to work this based on a parameter but based on research on this community I understand it might not be possible.
Desired Scenario:
Say the user selects the threshold to be $3,000,000. All User Codes with amounts lower than this get labeled "Below Threshold", all above it get labeled "Above Threshold" and all with $0 in the amount column get labeled "Zero".
And these 3 categories are to be presented in a Pie Chart. So if the user shifts the threshold to $4,000,000, the pie chart should get updated based on the new categories.

Any way to do this using parameter or measure or calculated column? Thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
One way of acheiving this is through numeric range parameter: go to Modeling > New Parameter > Numeric Range to create a slicer. Note - this won't be dynamic, so you'll need to know the range of values for your Amounts. If that isn't really an option, then you can manually do the same thing by creating a calculated table with GENERATESERIES().
Then you can create measures such as
Below Threshold Users = COUNTROWS(FILTER(UserCodes, UserCodes[Amount] <= Parameter[Parameter Value]))
to use in your pie chart.
