Hello guys,
I have an Excel-file and in it I have the Date in one column like this: 01.2016, 02.2016, 03.2016...12.2016.. When I import this Excel file to Power BI I have it like in the first picture (the zero is gone). It is regulary formated as a decimal number in Power BI. When I want to change it to date, I have no good format option to choose. For example if I choose MMMM yyyy then there appears November 1932 and before it was 01.2016.
I can´t change the format in Excel because the file is going to be updated every day and then it will change it automatically again.
What can I do?

In the Query Editor, undo the change type step.
Then try to change the type to date.
Apply the changes then it is done.

You need to create a custom column in powerquery mode and concatenate 01 with your date column.
This will convert the date column to the first day of every month.
