Data- Limit

The data I am able to display in Power BI is limited to the current day only.

In the past, I was able to display data to over 90 days ago

Any idea what may be going on?

My data source is linked to Azure

My Query Limit simulations is set to Azure Analysis Services, which has a memory limit of 10 GB and a timeout limt of 600 seconcs

My goal is to send managers reports of their employees production over the 5 days.

Hi @emutuc

To properly investigate such issues, it's essential to review the file and settings directly. However, based on similar cases, here are a few general areas to check:

  1. Power BI Filters: It’s possible that report-level filters, page-level filters, or visual-level filters in Power BI are limiting the displayed data to only the current day. Additionally, if you’re using relative date filters, these might be set to show only today’s data. Checking all levels of filters is crucial to ensure none of them are restricting the data unnecessarily.

  2. Query Parameters: There could be a filter or parameter in the data query itself that limits the data to the current day. This could happen in the Power Query Editor or in the underlying data source, so reviewing these settings is essential.

  3. Data Source Configuration: There might be a data retention or refresh policy within Azure Analysis Services that limits the data available to the most recent day. It's worth checking the data source settings for any such restrictions.

  4. Query Performance: Given your memory limit of 10 GB and a timeout limit of 600 seconds, querying data over a larger time period (e.g., 90 days back) could be consuming too much memory or hitting the timeout, which might result in only recent data being displayed. Checking the performance metrics and simplifying the query might be necessary.

  5. Incremental Refresh: If you’ve set up incremental refresh in your Power BI report, ensure it’s configured correctly. An incorrect setup may cause only recent data to be loaded into your model.
