Creating column using another column

Hello,

 

I have one column with the values text,blanks,and dates(Datatype is String).I would like to create another column from that column with the values,year from datevalue and remain are same.Please help for this.

Hi @Anonymous,

 

You can go to Query Editor, create a custom column via: 

 

=try Date.Year(Date.FromText([Column1])) otherwise [Column1]
