Connecting to sharepoint document sets

Hi,

 

I am trying to connect to sharepoint document sets to report on the metadata.

 

I can find the files in the documnet set through the sharepoint folder connector, but I can't see any of the additional columns that appear in sharepoint as shown in the screenshot.

 

Is it possible to report on the data in these columns for document sets?

    Thanks again for your patience and all the detailed testing.Since you have already tried both the SharePoint Folder and List connectors and still can’t access the expected metadata for the files.At this stage, I’d recommend opening a Microsoft support ticket, so the team can take a closer look .

    Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!

    Yes, it is possible to report on metadata columns for document sets, but the SharePoint Folder connector only returns file-level details and might not include custom metadata like your "Test column." To access document set metadata, you may use the SharePoint Online List connector, which may retrieves both standard and custom columns from the library.
    Please refer the sharepoint-list connectors document.

      Hi @v-pagayam-msft,

       

      Thanks for your reponse, however, when I use the sharepoint online list connector, my document sets are not appearing with the other tables, do you know why this might be?

        Thank you for the follow-up.I would be happy to assist you!

        Using the SharePoint Online List connector in Power BI Desktop by connecting to your SharePoint site URL and selecting the relevant document library. In Power Query Editor, look for columns like ContentType (which should show “Document Set” for your document sets) and FSObjType (where 1 indicates folders/document sets). You may filter by ContentType = "Document Set" or FSObjType = 1 to isolate document sets and see their metadata, including any custom columns like your “Test column.”
