Connecting Power BI to SQL server

Hello Team,

Working on connecting Power BI to SQL server, getting the error, this is a new Power BI gateway server.

The credentails are working in the old server,

Any suggestions how to resolve this, iam attaching the screenshot.

@YashikaAgrawal  In Power BI service, did you add this as a data source under manage connections and gateways?

I am try new connection (On-premises), getting failed here itself.
Connection Name - xxxxx
Connection - SQL server
Server name - xxxxx
Database name - xxxxx
Authentication type - Windows
Username (DOMAIN\USERNAME)
Password xxxxx

Getting error "Unable to create connection for the following reason: The on-premises data gateway's service account failed to impersonate the user."

I tried connecting from Power BI service. I got the below error .

Unable to create connection for the following reason: The on-premises data gateway's service account failed to impersonate the user.

I tried giving user name as domain\user.
Domain is where the Power BI gateway server is installed, is this correct?
SQL server is in different location.

Any suggestions please.

@YashikaAgrawal, it seems like you are connecting from Power BI desktop, if that is the case, it will not use the gateway. Can you make sure you can connect to the SQL server using SSMS? if yes, use the same credentials here.
