I was under the impression that the newly-released DirectQuery for PBI Datasets feature would unlock standard DirectQuery features (like Dual Mode or Import). However, I find that changing from a live connection to a PBI Dataset to a DirectQuery only enables me to import other data sources but DOESN'T allow changes to the storage mode for the PBI dataset tables. Is this expected or going to be fixed in the near-future?
The PBI dataset I'm using is connected to a couple of dataflows, one of which is using SQL data while the other is a manually-entered table.
@arpost , Yes storage mode change option is given when you try to add additional staff in case of dataset.
You can log an idea for that https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/
You can check planned features here -https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform-release-plan/2021wave2/
@amitchandak, thanks for the reply! Not sure I understand what you mean by "when you try to add staff." Are you saying I SHOULD be able to change storage modes for PBI Dataset tables once I change to DirectQuery?
