ODBC: ERROR [40001] while refreshing queries over VPN
Hi All:
At my company we use PowerBI Desktop for monitoring activities such as incoming orders, current stock level, dispatch, etc. The person who created this tool for us has left the company.
The query that pulls in data works and we have been using this query for quite some time without any issues. Recently, while refreshing the queries, we get the following error:
ODBC: ERROR [40001] ERROR: canceling statement due to conflict with recovery
DETAIL: User query might have needed to see row versions that must be removed.;
Error while executing the query
My computer connects to the database server over SSL-VPN. I am very new to using PowerBI, so if more information is needed, I can find it and add to the post.
Many thanks for your help!

Anonymous , there is some problem with order lines. Please refresh that separately(right click on table and refresh) . or try adding that in a new file and check.

Hi Anonymous
What is the data source of this OrderLines query? Which connector does it use to access the data source?
Try creating a new pbix file and creating a new query there to connect to the same data source. See if you can connect to the database in a new file? If not, open Power Query Editor and find if there is any error message there.
From the error message, it seems the connection to this database was successful but the query failed. I did some google search about this error and found that most solutions indicate that it might be a database side error. So let's first test whether the connection succeeds. If connection succeeds, VPN should not be the cause.
