I have an Azure map visual that uses a report tooltip page. When I zoom in on the map the hover-over hand no longer appears when I try to view the tooltip on a location point. I can only see a tooltip when I'm not zoomed in. Is there a way to view a tooltip whern zoomed in on a map?
Thank you 🙂

Hi @Florie ,
The tooltip behavior you’re experiencing appears to be linked to how the Azure Maps visual manages hover interactions at higher zoom levels. When zoomed in, the interactive area around each bubble may shrink or become less responsive, which can prevent tooltips from displaying as expected. This is not an issue with your tooltip configuration, but rather with how the visual handles pointer events at different zoom settings.
To address this, please verify that you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop and that the Azure Maps visual is up to date. If clustering is enabled, try disabling it, and consider temporarily increasing the bubble size to see if the tooltip appears when zoomed in. If this resolves the issue, maintaining slightly larger bubbles or adding a transparent overlay may improve hover consistency. Additionally, testing the report in Power BI Service is recommended, as interaction behaviors can differ from Desktop.
If the problem persists after these steps, please create a simplified PBIX file that demonstrates the issue (with sensitive data removed) and share it. This will help determine whether it is a visual limitation or a product issue that requires further investigation.
Thank you,
Tejaswi.
Hi.
This is how is looks when not zoomed-in:
(Need to hide the data.) Does this help? I've removed the visual and re-attached but this didn't change anything.
Thanks

Thank you! I tried all your suggestions in desktop and it didn't make a difference. However, the tooltip worked when zoomed in when I tested the report in Power BI Service.
Hi.
Thanks for replying. This is my map, zoomed in.
When I hover over a bubble, the tooltip doesn't appear when zoomed in. It works fine when I'm not zoomed in. I'm not sure why this isn't working properly?
Thank you
HI @Florie
Unfortunately, I don't see the tooltip difference in your screenshot as it is just one map view there.
CAn you hover over the bubbles and take 2 screenshots please? One for zoomed-in view and other one for zoomed-out?
This scenario is working fine at my end so not sure.
Can you share your pbix file by removing any sensitive information from it?

Hi @Florie
I tried it at my end.
When I am NOT zoomed in, I see the tooltip as follows:
Now when I try to Zoom in to the particulat bubble and hover over it, I still see the tooltip:
Can you add some screenshots to understand the issue at your end.
