Custom Filtering on Filter pane

We welcome the addition of the filter pane as this results in additional real estate.  Unfportunately this doesn't work when you need to apply a filter / slicer to only a few visuals.  I.e. trending charts with YTD charts.  Can you add functionality which results in us having the ability to control what visuals are affected by the filter pane filters.
