this shouldn't be happening but im getting a semantic model for a direct query to power bi dataset.
this shouldnt be happening, i should only end up with a report, not a model

i remade the report again and did the same steps and now i do not get a semantic model.

It doesn't matter the point is are you getting the updated data from your source or not.What ever @lbendlin mentioned is correct the configuration details will be stored in the semantic model.
