I am very new to power bi.After years of SSRS a number of years ago I thought that would be simple. I've read a number of forum posts and information pages on the net and have found that his one issue is take more time to figure out than many things I've encountered in the past. It is what I'm sure is a simple solution if I knew what it was: how to automatically have power bi divide 32 rows in a tablix into seperate pages when it is run. What I find is that after setting up a letter sized report the entire 32 rows show as one big page which. in scrolling to the bottom of the page is comprised of about 3 or 4 pages.
I have looked at examples on the internet and it seems like using a tablix and giving it an existing dataset in it's properties, the reports have been divided into tables perfectly. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I played with page breaks by choose "after" and found that while the page numbers appeared there was only data in page one. Page 2 was emptry and I got the same "giant" page I got without using page breaks.
I am almost embarrased by this considering how much time I've been using microsoft products but I would appreciate any help. It seem like I am doing what I've seen in examples on the internet (including youtube) but I must be missing one thing. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way this is happening in Power BI Report Builder. Since I am having trouble I didn't publish it to the service.

I had answered a reply that didn't work. It had to do with using ceiling to limit the number of rows per page. It called for using a variable called RowNumber which was flagged as invalid when running the report. The replies from other members are seen here so I'm not sure what you think the status is.

Hi @fig000 The reason the tablix isn’t paginating is likely due to its size exceeding the page's usable area or missing proper group-based page breaks.
For adjusting, try by setting the report size to 8.5 x 11 inches (letter) and resizing the tablix to fit within the page margins. Enable page breaks in the row group properties by selecting Break after each group. You could also try by grouping rows by adding a calculated column like RowNumber and use =Ceiling(RowNumber / 32) to paginate every 32 rows.
For detailed guidance, refer to Microsoft's documentation on Pagination in paginated reports and Adding page breaks in Report Builder.
Akash,
Thanks for responding and sorry for the delay. There were a few details that I had to guess at and possibly made the wrong decidion.. This is what I did:
I went to the report properies and
chose portrait
the right and left margins .5
Went to the body properites and made sure that the width was 7.5 and made the height 1 in (based on a video I saw.
Hope I understood you correctly I created a calculated field called RowNum with the expression (much like yours): =Ceiling(RowNumber / 10)
Went to the rowgroup details and added a parent group for which I chose RowNum as described above.
I ran the report and got this message:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 'Value' expression for the field 'NumRows' contains an error: [BC30451] 'RowNumber' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level.
----------------------------
The definition of the report '' is invalid.
----------------------------
An error occurred during local report processing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any help would be appreciated

Hi @fig000,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Remove the calculated field RowNum. Add a Parent Group to your Tablix: Use this expression: =Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/10)
In the Group Properties > Page Breaks, check: "Between each instance of a group"
Ensure your report layout fits the page:
Body Width + Left/Right Margins ≤ 8.5in (Letter size)

Hi @fig000,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
To paginate a Tablix report in Power BI Report Builder, ensure the following:
Set Page Size: Go to Report Properties and set the Paper Size to Letter and adjust the Orientation as needed.
Insert Page Breaks: Right-click the Tablix and select Tablix Properties. In the Page Breaks section, select "Insert a page break after each instance of a group."
Set Row Height: Ensure the rows are not too large to fit on a single page by adjusting the row height in the Properties window.
Group Settings: In the Row Groups pane, set Page Breaks to insert after specific rows or groups.
Preview: Use Preview to check pagination.
